Great Package from Sony Today. Rare Series 3 "Sample" Cards, LOOK

To my surprise today when I woke up from a very nice nap, I found a Fed Ex package at my door step.

I didn't remember getting anything on ebay that required overnight shipping, when I read the package invoice it said "EOJ Biolith Rebellion 3 Cards". I got very excited, I thought these were going to be the promo cards sony was going to send me. Boy was I suprised in what was in side:

There was a "Sample" starter deck of cards (x30)

*Note: There were other blank back cards discovered 8-8-2009, these are one of a kind.
So the basic deck that most sites received had 30 cards, but there are other blank back cards found.

The crazy part is they have no printed backs!!! They are blank, first of a kind for EOJ.

Sony also gave me a redemption code for a FREE Series 3 download patch, which I will give away for free because I have bought one already. Stay tuned for that.

This package seems to be a retail press kit, so I sure you will see these popping up all over the net over the next few weeks. Since I live in California and SCEA / Upperdeck is located in California I get stuff first.

Im going to have alot of fun over the next couple of days testing out these new cards, please stay tuned for more information on this package.

Any reason why they sent you a sample starter deck? I mean what's the purpose of the starter deck if it's not for starting the game (if u see what i mean)?

The Blue Lycanthrope (227) art is IMO the best. This is based on the daughter of one of the SCEA employees (or something similar, it was mentioned on an official blog. Anyone remember this?) any chance you could contact said employee and ask if she will sign some for the next newsletter? I know you said you had no luck with the artist's.

Any anomalies? incorrect rarity etc.

This sample pack seems to be something to do with "Retail" sales of these cards as it seems from the content of the official signed letter. It almost feels like something a beta tester might get to try out the product before they sign off on it.

warbear - please, please, please try to dig this post or blog up. I now have a handfull of SCEA contacts and could find out about this story and try to get autographs. This "little girl" image is so damn cute she is now on my home page of my site.

<Mark> Chuck’s right, tough question. Quick answers, (gameplay) Novogus Catapult (43) - 6 HP, 2 DMG for only 1 mana, if played right. As for artwork, I’m waiting for Set 3 - the team named a card after my son.

Perhaps dapper is right about the card naming. I cannot find a comment related to the lycanthrope, however i don't recall reading this original article.

Darn! I was hoping this would pan out..

Because this is my favorite art work of the whole series.

The letter referenced something about a "Retail Bundle" so maybe.

I owned 3 Sample decks.

They were given to me when dealing with Sony/Hasbro in my line of work.

I wasn't lucky enough to receive this Sample Deck though. Congrats.

I might be in the minority here but I think the whole japanese anime theme (Blue Lycanthrope (227), Romili, etc) for cards cheapens the game.
