This has got me SERIOUSLY excited. I'm thinking that since it was announced in the same breath as the eye toy, it will still use the cards and in that case they'll start printing again..... as well as a set 4.

KillerShark1978 wrote:I hope it is a different game of some type, an RPG maybe, I think that EOJ has a good world and characters to work with other types of game, and its highly possible because its not going to use the camera and cards, if they where to release a different type of game using the EOJ world and characters then the internet and price of EOJ cards could go up again and with boost in interest maybe they will print more cards. and possibly a re-release of the PS3 version could even lead to a new set.
bit then maybe a new set is not a good thing because they have managed to fuck up every new set the have done so far, maybe if they where to attempt a new set the game would become unplayable.
Killershark man, you know how to get people excited, but this is such a speculation that I think it's just a fantasy, don't think it will be such a game, but would surprise me positively if it would be...

don't you think it's funny guys
everytime there could be announcements we were there. But we just didn't speak of an EOJ announcement @ Gamescon and look, there it is :p. Hope official partys/parties like eojmanager and eojcollector will receive additional information...
Although I'm totally out of playing I still support every new EOJ-product, being set 4 or a new game

I can’t see this being much more than a digital version of EoJ with cards being unlocked by completing certain challenges. I would love some Remote Play features as this would mean programmers were still working on EoJ code. The fact that SONY has touched on EoJ at all has me surprised but until more information is unveiled I’m going to keep my feet firmly planted on the ground.

Well if they announced a new PSP EOJ game we can be sure of one thing, they haven't given up on the game and that's huge. The thing I worry about is how faithful they'll be to all the card game players who spent lots of money on cardboard if they're switching to a digital system.

yes, I agree Gregolution, good sidenote. Hope they don't forget about us and hope it isn't a fast port to the psp.
Do we have to wait 'till tomorrow until journalists will be able to play "on the flour" or are they going in now?

"Excitement she wrote"
This is the greatest news since Kraftwerk announced the release of their 2003 album 'tour de france soundtracks' and that's official.

This is what i'm thinking.
Sony know that EOJ is a huge hit with players, i mean just look at the limited amount of cards on the market and the prices their going for. Sony weren't making huge amounts of money from the cards, so from their point of view that portion of the game was a failure. So they decide to release the game on the PSP, pushing up sales of the new PSP Go and publishing cards over the PSN through digital booster packs.
Think about it lol, being able to play EOJ on the go.
If this is the case then i will be spending most of the work day playing this in the office.

Sony needs to make an android based phone and port eoj to it so I won't have to worry about having a wifi connection and make it truly portable

Sony-Erickson does have a new CEO who stated the company will be pursuing smart phones instead of camera/walkman phones. Android seems like a likely OS for the phone, so I would not be suprised to see a Sony-Erickson smart phone with an android OS by Christmas... I doubt we will see PSN type games on the phone anytime soon.

i hope if they do bring it back on the psp, they don't go full digital with boosters. i'd much rather open the real thing.
i don't have a psp so i don't know much about them... if i take it on a trip, can i play people online? and does it connect to a ps3?
i'm just thinking if they do this and have boosters, how will you deck build? will there be a camera to scan them or what.

Not trying to rain on any parades (or p!$$ in anyones corn flakes) but maybe, just maybe, the Kotaku blogger saw an InVisimals screenshot and assumed "Eye of Judgment for PSP" ....?
I'll wait for the official press release from Sony before getting really excited that the EoJ fire still burns!

I wonder how many of the old players of EOJ will come back to the game regarding this announcement?.
It's probably just going to be the same game, but playable on the PSP but we can hope their are going to be new improvements, new sets, a new series, etc.
At least it has the forum excited in the possibilities that this news could bring.
I've not been this excited since i first found the game for the PS3. Hopefully this time they will do a better job of publicising and supporting the game more.
